Announcing Our New Aftercare Program!

 

Welcome to the Ithaca Frolic aftercare Program, where childhood is celebrated through free play and friendships! Centrally located in downtown Ithaca, we provide a safe, fun, and enriching environment for your child to wind down and explore after the school day ends.

Who is eligible?

We can accept potty-trained children ages 2-6 from any local school or school-aged program.  We are also happy to take children from local homeschool programs or from households that need regular care during those hours.

Program Details & Philosophy

Our program runs from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, following the Ithaca City School District (ICSD) school year calendar. We believe that children learn best through self-directed play, and our program is designed to foster creativity, social skills, and confidence in a relaxed atmosphere. We intentionally keep our group small, with a 6:1 child to adult ratio, to ensure every child gets the attention and support they need to thrive.

Daily Schedule

2:15-2:30: Arrival

2:30-3:00: Wash hands, snack and story time

3:00-4:30: Open play (outside when weather permits)

4:30-5:15: Science, math, cooking, art, or craft activity

5:15-5:30: Caregiver Pickup

• Free Frolic Membership: Every enrolled child receives a free membership to the Ithaca Frolic play space, so you can come back and play on the weekends!

• Highly Qualified Educators: Our team of experienced and caring educators is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment.

• Monthly Local Field Trips: We'll explore our amazing community with fun and educational outings each month.

• Plenty of Outside Time: We make sure there's ample time for fresh air, exercise, and outdoor adventures.

• Small Group: Our space is limited to six children, which helps foster a calm atmosphere with a lot of one-on-one attention.

• A Focus on Friendships: Our small group size encourages children to build strong, meaningful connections with their peers.

Transportation

To make your life easier, kids can be bused directly from their elementary schools to our location.
